This semester, the Career and Corporate Outreach Center within the College of Business hosted several career events, including Prepare for the Fair, Networking Reception 1 and the Career Fair. The events had record student turnout, with more than 2,200 students in attendance.
The series started with Prepare for the Fair on September 27, where free headshots, mock interviews and resume critiques equipped attendees with essential tools to enter the workforce.
The following week on October 3, Networking Reception 1 saw an impressive turnout of students and employer engagement. The event provided students and companies the platform to establish connections, exchange information and explore potential career paths through these interactions.
On October 4, the Career Fair welcomed over 65 employers eager to engage with business students. Companies like Greater Nevada Credit Union, Whitter Trust Company of Nevada, ZLINE Kitchen and Bath and Tesla Motors participated.
“ZLINE had an incredible experience participating in The College of Business Career Events for the third year. The atmosphere was energetic, and the engagement from students and faculty was truly remarkable,” Maroon Abboud, people operations coordinator at ZLINE Kitchen and Bath, said, “We love going to these career fairs as they provide a valuable platform for students to explore career opportunities at ZLINE and for us to connect with potential talent.”
The turnout demonstrated the dedication of the College’s student body to further career success and highlighted the important work of the Career and Corporate Outreach Center as well as the support from the College’s faculty and community businesses.
“We could not have done this without the outstanding engagement from the community, professors’ support and the dedicated team at the Career and Corporate Outreach Center,” Coordinator of Career Services Paige Zolldan said.
These events provide in-person opportunities for both students and employers to help formulate professional relationships, helping students to secure a job or internship and businesses to connect with potential employees before graduation.
“We are so excited about the talent pool that we’ve had the privilege to interact with,” Abboud said, “We look forward to participating in all future career events.”
The Career and Corporate Outreach Center is hosting its last career event, Networking Reception 2, on November 3 from 4 to 6 p.m.
