This news is perfect for National Coffee Day, which happens to be today.
In July, my colleague Jake Abbott told you that Brazilian cafe Tupi Coffee planned to move from its current location at 701 19th St. in Sacramento.
The cafe will relocate to 1901 Eighth St. in Sacramento, a space last occupied by Insight Coffee Roasters. The site where Tupi Coffee plans to operate is part of The Kind Project, which includes apartments and retail space.
Update: Tupi Coffee will operate at its current site until Oct. 29, operators recently announced on social media. It’s expected to open at the new location on Nov. 1, the announcement states.
Tupi Coffee will be expanding its offerings as part of the move.

Ann Edwards is stepping down, after three years as Sacramento County’s executive. The county announced Thursday that Edwards plans to retire on Jan. 26.
Edwards became the first woman to serve in the county’s top job in 2020, when she stepped into the role on an interim basis as former County Executive Navdeep Gill was put on administrative leave amid allegations of misconduct and mismanagement.
Gill retired in early 2021. Edwards got the role permanently and launched a series of reforms aimed at increasing transparency and changing the organizational culture.
Reporter Emily Hamann has details about Sacramento County Executive Ann Edwards’ planned retirement.
Capital Public Radio appears to have plans to rectify past financial mismanagement moving forward, following an internal audit.
In a recording obtained by the Business Journal of an all-staff Capital Public Radio Zoom meeting held hours before the audit was released on Wednesday, interim General Manager Tom Karlo discussed the outcomes of the audits in broad strokes, stressing that the station, its license-holder California State University Sacramento and the CapRadio board had all seen the audit and had already outlined plans to move forward.
“I didn’t do it,” said Karlo, who joined CapRadio in August of this year. “But I’m here to help.”
Associate Editor Lindsay Oxford explains how CapRadio’s interim general manager is reassuring its staff after the audit.
