Free Medicare 101 class rescheduled
Castell Insurance had to postpone a free Medicare 101 class earlier this month but will offer two Medicare 101 classes on Thursday, Aug. 21.
Separate classes are at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Guy Cole Event Center, 144 N. Blake Ave. Featured speakers are James Castell, John Coulson and Stephany Shackelford.
The class addresses a number of Medicare situations, whether attendees are preparing to turn 65, have questions for a loved one, or have been on Medicare for years and still don’t quite understand the options.
The class will feature industry experts with more than 30 years combined experience to answer questions and explain all of the ins and outs of Medicare, organizers said.
This is a no obligation, no sales pitch class, they said.
Topics will include aging in, coverage options, Part D details, basic costs, and a question-and-answer session. No personal information will be gathered.
Peanut butter drive aids food bank
In August, WeDo Fudge and Cascade Caramel held their annual peanut butter drive to benefit the Sequim Food Bank. Thanks to Clallam County Public Utility District No. 1 (PUD) employees joining their efforts, they collected and donated 467 pounds of peanut butter.
WeDo Fudge and Cascade Caramel thank the people of Sequim and the employees of PUD for supporting the Food Bank. They also want to thank all the volunteers at the Sequim Food Bank, who have more than 50 adults and teenagers who accomplish the work of more than four full-time employees, helping to ensure that the financial resources remain focused on their core mission of providing food to the hungry.
“There are so many wonderful reasons to live in Sequim, especially the generous kind hearts of the people,” WeDo Fudge representatives said.
