MOUNDVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) – A man has been arrested after the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s house and stabbed a man and killed her dog.
Tuscaloosa County deputies say they were dispatched to the Greymont subdivision Friday morning around 3:30 a.m. on a call that a man had been stabbed.
Police say the suspect, 29-year-old Nicholas Lynch, broke into the couple’s home and an altercation ensued. The current boyfriend was stabbed by Lynch multiple times.
When deputies were clearing the home, they found two children under the age of 12 hiding in separate places. Police say the children had minor assault injuries. They also found the woman’s dog had been killed by Lynch.
Police say Lynch left the scene, but they were able to locate him and his vehicle.
Lynch has been charged with domestic violence burglary in 1st degree, attempted murder, aggravated animal cruelty, and two counts of 3rd degree assault.
The victims were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The victims are all said to have non-life-threatening injuries.
Lynch was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail. He is being held on no bond.
