Hollywood officials approved plans for a 200-unit apartment complex on Federal Highway.
Local developers Bardi VP and Starlife Group plan to build 21 Hollywood on the 1.48-acre site at 2100 N. Federal Highway, across from South Broward High School. The 13-story building would include about 10,000 square feet of retail and 301 parking spaces. The 200 apartments would include 18 penthouses with private rooftop terraces.
Miami-based Kobi Karp Architecture designed 21 Hollywood.
Amenities would include a pool deck, a fitness center, a movie room, a coworking space, a playground, a game room, a Jacuzzi and a dog park.
Starlife Group CEO Gevorg Shahbazyan said he plans to break ground on the project in summer 2024.
The developer purchased the property for $6.5 million in February and plans to demolish the commercial building there.
There’s been a development boom in Hollywood after the city rezoned much of the land on its east side to allow more density and mixed-use projects. People have been moving to Hollywood to be closer to the beach and between the employment hubs of Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
