Bobby Deol’s striking appearance in the trailer of Animal left a lasting impression, generating significant buzz. Following the film’s theatrical release, Bobby’s fan base has reached new heights, with enthusiasts emulating his dance moves in Instagram reels. In a recent interview, Bobby discussed grappling with imposter syndrome during the making of Animal and revealed his doubts about his performance, despite receiving praise from the film’s director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Speaking at the The Film Companion Actors’ Adda, Bobby shared a behind-the scene anecdote from the sets of Animal and said, “The scene where I put the finger on my mouth. I was just told what to do and speak in the sign language. I was like, ‘Okay, fine.’ I knew the dialogue because I had to practice it in sign language.”
He continued, “So, when I just went and did that shot, I don’t want to boast but it was a one take shot and everybody started clapping and I was like, ‘Maine kya kia, why are people clapping?’ Sandeep comes to me and says, ‘Sir, that was an award winning shot.’ I was like, ‘I am working for so many years, no actor has told me this thing.’ I was happy inside but I was also thinking that maybe I am not able to do it and that’s why he is, ‘What a shot.’ So this is what I experienced. I lost the stardom but I never lost the love of the audience.”
Bobby Deol returned to the big screen with Animal after four years. The film also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
