Let’s begin with our top story, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan on Monday, February 12th, took to his social media handle and made an exciting announcement. Kartik took to his X handle and shared an edited video of Vidya Balan and him performing “Ami Je Tomar” with the caption, “And its happening. Og Manjulika is coming back to the world of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Super thrilled to welcome @vidya_balan. This Diwali is going to be crackling #BhoolBhulaiyaa3.” Fans on the internet expressed excitement and welcomed Vidya Back back to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. One of the fans wrote, “So excited for this one koki can’t wait to meet rooh baba and manjulika this Diwali.” Another commented, “The Crossover everyone awaiting for is finally happening.”
Recently, many Bollywood and Hollywood personalities were seen attending a grand opening of a hotel called One & Only One Za’abeel in Dubai. Personalities like Gauri Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Malaika Arora, Orry, Naomi Campbell, Vanessa Hudgens, and others walked the red carpet. JLo also performed live at the launch event and Kiara shared a video of the same on her Instagram story. Though this was a starry affair, Sidharth and Kiara became the talk of the town. The couple was recently in Dubai where they celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The two had even shared a loved-up picture riding on horseback with a sweet caption. On the work front, Sidharth will be seen in Yodha in March 2024.
In the past, AR Rahman has referred to filmmaker Shekhar Kapur as his mentor. In a chat with Ranveer Allahbadia on his YouTube channel, Shekhar said, “AR Rahman had a name in the industry by the time I met him. I produced Bollywood-themed musical Bombay Dreams. I worked with composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Andrew was very upset when I was bringing Rahman because he has done many musicals in the West like Phantom Of The Opera and more. I convinced him to bring Rahman. I knew that Rahman was a genius and had a lot of humility.” Shekhar believes that Rahman’s faith helps his ability to craft soulful music. Rahman gave music in Shekhar’s Hollywood directorial Elizabeth: The Golden Age.
Moving on, Actor Shreyas Talpade, who recently experienced a near-fatal heart attack, has opened up about how the Hindi and Marathi film industry stood behind them in those tough times. On ABP’s Majha Katta, he said, “The way they stood behind us, it was phenomenal.” In an interview with TOI, Shreyas had earlier revealed that he was ‘clinically dead’ after the cardiac arrest and added that this was his second chance at life. Shreyas reportedly suffered a heart attack on the evening of December 14, after wrapping the shoot of ‘’Welcome To Jungle’ in Mumbai. Shreyas was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.
Mira Rajput has always been a cheerleader for actor-husband Shahid Kapoor. Mira took to Instagram to reshare a fan reel with the text, “From Background Dancer in “Taal” to turning all his dances into electrifying masterpieces.” After watching the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya at the special premiere, Mira took to her Instagram story to share a still from the film, and wrote, “Complete laughter riot! Entertainment overload after ages! Love, laughter, masti, dancing and heart touching message at the end.” Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer released in theatres on Friday, February 9th. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, with a decent start, the collection of the film now stands at around Rs 27 crore.
Next up, Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi stands apart from other celebrities who criticised Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. In a chat with India Today, she said, “I loved the film and really enjoyed it. I loved the machismo. It is a very crafty film and I feel like all kind of films should be made and, as an audience, it is your choice whether you want to watch that film or not.”
Netflix on Monday, February 12th, dropped the trailer of its latest documentary, The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth, which examines the complexities of the sensational Sheena Bora case. The documentary features Indrani Mukerjea and her daughter, Vidhie. The trailer chronicles the high-profile murder being in the spotlight, with commentary from journalists who broke the story. The trailer ends when Indrani is asked, “Did you murder your daughter Sheena?” Indrani replies, “What a stupid question.” Directed by Uraaz Bahl and Shaana Levy, the trailer of the four-episode docuseries places the viewers right in the centre of the murder had gripped the nation. However, Indrani has claimed in a memoir that the person she is accused of killing is alive.
Lastly, the makers of Laapataa Ladies released “Sajni”, the second song from the film, on Monday, February 12th. Sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Ram Sampath, the love ballad comes at a crucial juncture in the film, portraying Jamtara fame Sparsh Srivastav’s character’s longing for his missing bride. Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies features Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam. The recently released trailer of the film shows a man unveiling the wrong bride in front of his family and village folk. Meanwhile, another man files an FIR at a police station for his missing wife, encountering a suspicious and sarcastic police officer, portrayed by Ravi.
