Let’s begin with our top story, Ranveer Singh’s recent ad with adult movie star Johnny Sins has taken over the internet. The Bollywood star announced that he is not just the face of the company, but a co-founder of the company. In a video shared by Bold Care’s YouTube channel, Ranveer claimed that there are 90 million men in India who face sexual health and wellness problems. The actor said that there are millions of young men who look up to him. He said, “I am a co-founder now. So this is my brand. This is Ranveer Singh’s sexual health and wellness brand.” The actor was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, is gearing up to debut in Aditya Chopra’s Maharaja. However, Junaid is already deep into filming his second project, co-starring Sai Pallavi. Junaid Khan’s second film is backed by his father and actor Aamir Khan under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. It is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, known for directing Rani Mukherji’-starrer Hichki. Meanwhile, Junaid’s debut film Maharaja is inspired by the infamous 1862 Maharaja Libel Case, wherein the leader of a religious sect sued a newspaper for alleging his involvement in illicit relations with his female followers. Junaid is portraying a journalist in the film, on the opposing side of the courtroom drama.
Socialite and businesswoman Natasha Poonawalla took to Instagram to share unseen photographs from her holiday in Switzerland with Bollywood power couple Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Natasha’s post has a selfie featuring herself, Kareena, and her signature pout. The Poonawalla and the Khan family travelled to Switzerland for New Year’s. Kareena commented on the post, saying, “Crying, missing it so much.” Meanwhile, Amrita Arora, who couldn’t join the vacation, commented, “I’m coming! Next year.” Earlier, Kareena Kapoor had also shared glimpses of her Swiss escapade on social media. On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor is gearing up for her upcoming projects, including The Crew, featuring Tabu and Kriti Sanon, and Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated multi-starrer, Singham Again.
Moving on, veteran actor Shabana Azmi has a pivotal role in filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi’s film Lahore 1947, featuring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in the lead roles. In a statement, Rajkumar Santoshi shared character details of Shabana Azmi and said, “Shabana ji has played various kinds of characters in her life. She is a tremendously talented actress and her character in Lahore 1947 is a central character in the film and the story revolves around her character.” Lahore 1947 is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions. This project marks the teaming up of Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi along with Aamir Khan. Interestingly, this film will also mark Aamir Khan Productions’ (AKP) 17th production under their banner.
Actor Akshay Kumar took to Instagram on Tuesday, February 13th, to announce the title and release date of the Hindi remake of the blockbuster Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. The movie has been titled Sarfira, and Akshay will step into the shoes of Suriya, who played the lead role in the original. In the teaser released by the makers, Akshay is seen riding a bike in a carefree manner, as he leans back to showcase his daredevil attitude. He captioned the video, “Dream so Big, they call you Crazy! #Sarfira releasing only in cinemas on 12th July, 2024. #MaarUdi.” The film will also feature a cameo by Suriya. Sarfira also stars Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.
Next up, actor Aamir Khan and filmmaker Kiran Rao ended their 15-year marriage in July 2021. Nevertheless, the two continue to maintain a strong bond, which is reflected in her presence at the wedding of Ira Khan, Aamir’s daughter from his first marriage. In a chat with Connect FM Canada, she said, “It came naturally to us because we started off working together, and even after we became partners, we continued working together. We understand each other in a way that goes beyond just the marital relationship.” The filmmaker also mentioned that Aamir takes her opinions on cinema very seriously and continues seeking her opinion on many occasions.
Actor Sara Ali Khan‘s period drama film, Ae Watan Mere Watan, is releasing on Prime Video on March 21st. The film is co-written by Kannan and Darab Farooqui. Sara took to Instagram to share the teaser and wrote, “Desh ki kahaani, Usha ki zubaani World Radio Day par!#AeWatanMereWatanOnPrime, Mar 21 only on @primevideoin”. The film is backed by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra’s Dharmatic Entertainment. Karan said in a statement said, “At Dharmatic Entertainment, we have always taken pride in bringing forth stories that are told from the heart and Ae Watan Mere Watan exemplifies that. For decades radio has thrived as a medium to inform, engage and entertain the masses, playing a crucial role in encouraging discourse.”
Lastly, Karan Johar’s upcoming web series Showtime dropped its trailer on Tuesday, February 13th and at the trailer launch, Karan played his famous rapid-fire round with Emraan Hashmi, who plays the lead role in the show. During the chat, Karan asked Emraan about one rumour about him that he would like to stop and the actor gave a hilarious answer. Emraan said, “That I’m a good kisser. I’m not a good kisser, I’m the best.” Emraan gained the name of ‘serial kisser’ in the 2000s when on-screen kissing was seen as taboo in Hindi films. Emraan previously appeared on Karan’s Koffee with Karan during the fourth season of the show and gave some fiery answers that created some controversy.
