Let’s begin with our top story: Filmmaker Siddharth Anand is reaching for the sky with his upcoming aerial actioner Fighter and says the Hrithik Roshan headlined feature was a tough film to mount. Anand unveiled the Fighter trailer on Monday, January 15th with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. Anand highlighted the film’s journey and expressed gratitude for the team’s collective effort. He said: “We have given it all. It is not an easy film. I’ve made a decent amount of action films but this has been another journey altogether. Everyone has helped us, it’s a team effort, and this is not a one-man show. I want to thank everyone in my team and everyone here. Keep showering the love.”
Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon is currently busy promoting her upcoming show Karmma Calling. Raveena, who made her digital debut with Aranyak, was initially the top pick for the lead role in Aarya. Eventually, the role in the Ram Madhvani-directed series went to Sushmita Sen.In an interview with Hindustan Times, Raveena opened up about why she had to reject Aarya. She said, “While these were really exciting scripts, but somewhere I wanted to do something that the audience have never got a chance to see me as before. Hence, I chose Aranyak to be my digital debut. It really worked well for me. That year was just full of awards. That gamble paid off.”
Next up: The new season of Koffee With Karan (KWK) opened with a heartwarming episode featuring the couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh having a soulful conversation with the show’s host Karan Johar however in a past episode of Koffee with Karan Season 3, Karan had revealed advising Aditya Chopra against casting Ranveer Singh in Band Baaja Baaraat. Karan said, “Aditya told me, ‘He is a really good actor. I said, ‘But it doesn’t matter, he looks like this.’ I said, ‘I have no hope. I’m not going to go and see this film because Aditya never calls me for any previews. I went to see this film and I was like, ‘Oh my god. he’s a movie star.’”
Actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna has hopped on the ‘Orry’ bandwagon and has said that she is fascinated by Orry. Known as ‘Bollywood’s BFF,’ Orry is seen socializing with celebrities like Janhavi Kapoor and Ananya Panday. Twinkle, in her Times of India column, presented ‘feasible’ resolutions for 2024. She drew a parallel between Orry and the character Dory from Finding Nemo, suggesting, “If you can’t follow Dory, then embody Orry.” Twinkle underscored the importance of recognizing and leveraging one’s strengths, using Orry as an example of a cultural icon who, despite lacking a specific profession, has made a mark by socializing with famous friends at parties.Twinkle shared an incident where senior journalists jokingly called each other the ‘Orry of poor people’
Moving on, actor Shakti Kapoor, recently revealed an amusing incident from the shooting of the 1982 film Satte Pe Satta. In an interview with Digital Commentary, recounting the prank orchestrated by Big B and his co-stars, Shakti said, “We were shooting for the song “Dukki Pe Dukki Ho.” My second dialogue was in the song. I was waiting for the shot and while I was waiting I saw Amitabh Bachchan saying the dialogue in my place. I thought, ‘Amitabh is saying my dialogue. My career is over.’ Camera wasn’t rolling. Then Amitabh Bachchan asked the director to give me 3-4 more shots saying, ‘Nahi toh mar jaega yeh.’ (He will die otherwise)”
Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. recently completed 20 years and the film was widely praised for its screenplay was released in 2003. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Khurshed Lawyer, who played Swami, Sanjay Dutt’s roommate in Munna Bhai MBBS, delivered an impressive performance, spoke of the significant 10-month delay the movie faced due to Shah Rukh Khan’s back injury, who was to play the part of Murli Prasad Sharma. Khurshed was also a part of Shah Rukh’s recent film Dunki, also helmed by Hirani and when asked if he met Shah Rukh this time, the actor said, “No, as it was a very tight schedule. There was no time to interact and also, it was a very professional setup.”
Mahesh Bhatt and Aamir Khan had a fallout after they worked together in the film Ghulam. Vikram Bhatt has shared insights into the conflict and explained what transpired between him and Aamir Khan on the Ghulam set. During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vikram disclosed, “When Aamir Khan and Bhatt saab had a parting on the Ghulam set, Aamir expressed, ‘I want Ghulam to be the most significant thing in your life.’ Bhatt saab honestly responded, ‘It cannot be. This is not the most important thing for me.’ Both were very forthright about their perspectives.”Regarding his bond with Aamir, the filmmaker stated, “We stay in touch. He attended my daughter’s wedding.”
Lastly: Bollywood actor Sunny Kaushal shares a close bond with his mother Veena Kaushal and maintains a good rapport with his sister-in-law, actor Katrina Kaif. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, when asked about any similarities he sees in the challenges faced by his mother and Katrina he said: “I can’t compare mom and Katrina that way because mom’s world has always been small. It was limited to me, Vicky (Vicky Kaushal) and dad (Sham Kaushal) and her siblings. Whereas Katrina, because of the work she does, because you meet so many people. They both come from very different worlds. To ask if they have any similarities? I don’t know and that’s my answer.”
