Let’s begin with our top story, Orhan Awatramani, also known as Orry, was among the many celebrities in attendance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. At the event, Orry had the opportunity to meet international sensation Rihanna. During their encounter, Orry gifted Rihanna his crystal earrings, which left the singer in awe. Taking to Instagram, Orry shared photos of himself with Rihanna, expressing his excitement about their meeting. He wrote in the caption of the images, “The journey of my earrings, they’re in a better place now, they found love in Jamnagar.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon’s much-anticipated film, Crew, is generating significant buzz. Following the recent release of the teaser, the film’s first music video was unveiled on Tuesday, March 5th. Titled “Naina.” the track marks a collaboration between the renowned artists Badshah and Diljit Dosanjh, who are known for their distinct styles. In addition to the stellar cast, Crew boasts special appearances by Anil Kapoor and Kapil Sharma, among others. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, the film is set to hit theatres on March 29. Previously, Diljit shared a fun behind-the-scenes video from the song’s shoot.
Moving on, This Sunday, March 3rd, Amitabh Bachchan attended the pre-wedding festivities of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani, and called it an “extraordinary” experience. Amitabh Bachchan was accompanied by his family, including wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, daughter Shweta Bachchan, grandson Agastya Nanda, and granddaughters Navya Naveli and Aardhya. In his blog, the screen icon wrote that the gates of Jalsa did not open for the public on Sunday, but the “gates of a wedding did occur.” He informed his fans that he is now back in Mumbai after the celebrations, and described what his experience was like.
Next up, At the recent pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, the 68-year-old singer, Udit Narayan, once again showcased his legendary talent by performing some of his most cherished tracks for the audience. The impact of his concert on attendees was so powerful that even Bollywood’s Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan were spotted dancing to Narayan’s heartening rendition of the song “Main Yahaan Hoon” from SRK’s widely acclaimed movie Veer-Zaara (2004). Udit shared, “There were such influential people, so the atmosphere had to be good. I was also given an opportunity. I’ve heard that Anant Ambani really loves me.”
Following months of speculations surrounding Alia Bhatt’s involvement in the blockbuster YRF Spy Universe, Yash Raj Films’ CEO Akshaye Widhani, on Tuesday, March 5th, finally confirmed this major development during FICCI Frames. He said, “I’ll share the worst-kept secret in the industry, which is, Alia Bhatt is headlining a Spy Universe film, and the schedule starts later this year. But talking about this spy universe, we are just so thrilled and excited about having this IP in the studio.” Alia Bhatt will share screen space with Sharvari Wagh in the action-packed yet-to-be-titled entertainer, wherein the actors will be seen portraying super-agents. The filming of the actioner is slated to commence later this year.
Actor Rohit Roy said that he faces a peculiar dilemma, he often finds people appreciating his work, but that acclaim doesn’t necessarily translate into bigger work. In an interview with Mirchi Plus, he said, “To say that I am not good or competent is one thing, but when people write after every show or film that I have performed excellently, that Hrithik Roshan ko takkar de diya Kabil mein, stole the thunder in Shootout at Lokhandwala climax… kyu likhte ho yaar? If you are writing that, it means if I have done a decent job.” Rohit broke into the scene in the early 2000s, with his TV shows like Kkusum, Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand and Swabhimaan, among others.
While everyone is in awe of the celebrity guestlist, comprising desi and international stars, and the lavish and exorbitant decor, Maria Goretti, former VJ and host, seems to be upset with the Ambanis for using an elephant as a ‘prop’. The 52-year-old took to Instagram to post a picture of Ivanka Trump — one of the guests attending the ceremonies — which also shows an elephant being used as ‘prop’ at one of the venues. Describing the image of Ivanka standing next to a decorated elephant as ‘appalling,’ Maria Goretti wrote, “I’m appalled at this picture of the Ambani celebration. I don’t think this should happen to any animal, specially not to animals that are being rescued and rehabilitated.”
Zeenat Aman made a comeback in a unique style. So a few days ago, when it was announced that actor Payal Ghosh would be playing her in a movie called Shaq: The Doubt, it was met with some scepticism. Now, Zeenat has expressed her disapproval, calling the decision to make a biopic on her life without involving her foolish. She said, “You may dismiss this as the ranting of an old lady, but in my opinion, it would be foolish to make a biopic about me without actually involving me.” She went on to say that nobody knows her life better than herself and to make a film on her life without her input would not make much sense.
Lastly, Actor Karisma Kapoor will next be seen in Netflix’s upcoming murder mystery titled Murder Mubarak. At the film’s trailer launch, Karisma spoke about being selective with her choices. She said, “To be very honest, I do selective work out of choice. I am lucky and thankful to be in a position where I can say yes or no.” Talking about what made Murder Mubarak stand out, Karisma said, “Homi is an old dear friend. We went to school together. He is a quirky maker. When I heard the script, my first reaction was that I have to be part of this unusual film.” The Dinesh Vijan production is helmed by Homi Adjania and releases on March 15 on Netflix.
