The Indian streaming space has been reaching more and more viewers since the pandemic and for the audience, the appetite seems to be increasing with every year. 2023, which saw Indians coming back to cinema halls in large numbers, also saw the audience appreciating the content that was released on streaming platforms. Films as well as web series drew large numbers to the OTT platforms and Ormax Media has now released the data of the most viewed titles on streaming platforms across different categories.
Among Hindi web series, Farzi topped the list with 37.1 million viewers watching the Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi show. Farzi also became the most-watched SVOD (Subscription video on demand) series in India of all time. Farzi was followed by Aditya Roy Kapur-starrer The Night Manager, which was seen by 28.6 million viewers. Bhuvan Bam-starrer Taaza Khabar was seen by 23.5 million viewers followed by Asur Season 2 and Taali, which were seen by 21 million and 17.8 million viewers, respectively.
Out of the Hindi films that were released online, the top spot was held by Nitesh Tiwari’s controversial film Bawaal, which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. As per the data, 21.2 million viewers watched the film that later courted controversy for belittling the tragedy of the Holocaust. This was followed by Shahid Kapoor starrer Bloody Daddy, which was seen by 17 million viewers. Gulmohar and Tumse Na Ho Payega were seen by 16.3 million and 14.3 million viewers, respectively.

In the Indian unscripted series, Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 topped the list with 19.5 million viewers tuning in. Koffee with Karan Season 8, which is almost at the end of its current season, was seen by 15.4 million viewers. Temptation Island was seen by 13.5 million viewers, as per the report.
Among international shows, Priyanka Chopra-starrer Citadel was the most watched show with 17 million viewers tuning in. The Mandalorian and Sex Education Season 4 were seen by 11.3 million and 10.2 million viewers, respectively. And in international films, Alia Bhatt’s Hollywood debut Heart of Stone ranked second after Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction 2. Heart of Stone was seen by 8.5 million viewers and Extraction 2 was seen by 9.8 million viewers.
