Now, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, Ranbir’s father-in-law, has congratulated the actor for his ‘unprecedented’ performance and called Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s direction ‘audacious’. According to Mahesh, Animal has risen above the accepted norms of mainstream films.

Ranbir shares quite a close bond with Mahesh Bhatt and his family. They celebrated Christmas together this year.
During pre-release events. Ranbir had also spoken about how his wife, actor Alia Bhatt, helped him through the Animal shoot. “Alia and I speak so much about each other’s work. I really respect her as an artiste and I respect her mind and how she thinks. Every scene or every day when I going to shoot the film, I would discuss it with her and she has helped me with so many scenes. She has helped me with scenes where I was scared as an actor that ‘Is it sounding too wrong?’” he had explained.
