Pankaj Tripathi has become a popular name in the film industry and amongst movie buffs with his performance in several films. The actor, who was last seen in OMG 2, recently spoke about travelling in an autorickshaw which had his own poster on the back. Pankaj chuckled a bit and said that ehen he told the rickshaw driver about the same, he was quite amused.
Pankaj played the role of Kanti Sharan Mudgal in OMG 2 in the film. Since this was Pankaj’s biggest hit till date, teh actor joked about increasing his fee from his next project.
In an interview with Film Companion when asked if he is getting more offers after OMG 2, Pankaj said, “Offers to aate hai lekin main abhi already kuch commitment leke baitha hun. Nahi life to kuch badli nahi hai. Ab soch raha hun ki agla jo film karunga to paise thode badha lunga. Baaki life to nahi badli abhi bhi auto mein baith ke aaya hun. Aur khushkismati samjhiye, ki jis auto mein aaya hun, uss auto ke peeche OMG 2 ka poster laga tha. Akshay sir aur mera photo. Mere saath jo ladka tha usne ek video bhi banaya hai, ki ‘sir ye to sanyog hai’. (Offers keep coming but I already have a commitment. Life hasn’t changed. I am now considering increasing my remuneration with the next film. Otherwise life hasn’t changed, I came here in an auto and I consider it my good luck that the auto in which I came, had OMG 2 poster behind it. Mine and Akshay sir’s photo. The boy with me even made a video.)
Pankaj, who won a National Award recently for his film Mimi, then narrated the amusing interaction he had with the autorickshaw driver.
“To wo samjha nahi ki kyu recording kar rahe the number plate ki. Main mask mein tha, to maine bola ki ‘wo main hun’. To usne mudh ke mujhe dekha, phir piche gaya utar ke aur poster dekha aur phir aa ke muskuraya. Tab tak main apni gaadi ki parking tak pohoch gaya tha. (He didn’t understand why we were making video of his number plate. I was wearing a mask, so I told him that its me in the poster. He turned around to look at me and then got off to go back and have a look at the poster. Then he came back and smiled. By then I had reached my car’s parking.)”
