Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor and was released on December 1.
From announcement to release, Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal managed to maintain the hype around the film. While a section of the audience and critics called out the film to be “misogynistic,” Animal continued roaring at the box office. Recently, Animal’s director Sandeep Reddy Vanga addressed the remarks made about the film and his previous projects Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy.
In a chat with Galatta Plus, Sandeep asserted, “Misogyny is disrespect to women. This is the actual definition, right? So no. Even Kabir Singh, even Animal, even me as a person.”
Explaining his take further, Vanga said, “I always feel… My production house name is Bhadrakali Pictures and I don’t know why people think…not too many people, only these 15-20 jokers. But it’s a wrong word to use on Kabir Singh, Animal.” He also added that the way a movie is dissected these days is “too high” and “too toxic”.
Speaking of the film, Animal was released on December 1. Besides Ranbir, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri and Shakti Kapoor essay pivotal roles. The film has already bagged Rs 835 worldwide.
Sharing an update on the sequel of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, Vanga, in the same interview said, “Next is Spirit. After that, I’ll work (on Animal Park) because I don’t feel in the writer’s room. I write my own stuff.” For the unversed, Spirit will be headlined by Prabhas and it is a cop film.
