The Last of Us has found its Jesse.
Emmy-nominated Beef actor Young Mazino has been tapped to play the character from the video game in the HBO drama’s upcoming second season.
Jesse is described as a pillar of his community who puts everyone else’s needs before his own, sometimes at terrible cost.
“Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him. We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show,” said exec producers, co-creators and writers and directors Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.
Mazino joins the recently cast Kaitlyn Dever (who plays Abby) in the second season of the HBO breakout starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Production is expected to begin in the spring for a return to HBO in 2025.
Mazino is repped by UTA, M88 and Jackoway Austen.
