An upscale home and furniture store is closing its location in the Central Business District and will be moving to Jefferson Parish.
Arhaus Furniture has offered massive sales and price slashing to clear its storefront at 939 Girod St., in the South Market area. The store is across from Rouses and near Willa Jean and Maypop restaurants.
Arhaus is hoping to open in the new Metairie location at Lakeside Shopping Center by Dec. 1.
Most items left in the store were 70% off on Sunday. While most of the large furniture was gone, there were still rugs, throw pillows, end tables, light fixtures, chairs and other home decor items left inside.
Store representatives said more furniture could come in as early as Tuesday to be sold at discounted rates as they prepare for the move to Metairie.
