At the fest, WME Independent will be handling sales for Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck’s Freaky Tales, Sam and Andy Zuchero’s Love Me, Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain, and Amrou Al-Kadhi’s Layla. Last year, Maxfield helped sell Theater Camp out of Sundance, landed a multi-territory deal with Mubi for Ira Sach’s Passages and paired John Carney’s Flora & Son with Apple.
Maxfield, a Columbia political science grad who had a a stint working for senator Chuck Schumer, joined WME in 2014, starting in the mailroom and later joining the production department, motion picture lit, and Fifth Season before landing in the Independent group.
Maxfield will continue to help package talent and projects in the independent space, while identifying new filmmaking talent out of festivals, building out finance plans for filmmakers and sales strategy for finished films, and taking projects out to market.
